Una, 11th April- Fire Service Week is being celebrated from 14th to 20th April with the aim to reduce the damage caused by fire and to create awareness about fire safety. Commander Home Guard, 12th Battalion Una Vikas Saklani informed that this year the theme of Fire Service Week will be 'Unite, Ignite Agni Surakshit Bharat'.

Commander Home Guard, 12th Battalion Una Vikas Saklani informed that this year the theme of Fire Service Week will be 'Unite, Ignite Agni Surakshit Bharat'.
During this time, essay and poster making competitions will also be organized in schools for school children from 9th to 12th class. Registration for this will start from 11th April and entries will be received till 5 pm on 16th April. Apart from this, the winners of the competition will be given first prize of Rs. 51,00, second prize of Rs. 3,100 and third prize of Rs. 1100 and the winner will be selected at state level on 18th April. Vikas Saklani said that the Fire Service Week is celebrated to pay tribute to the brave firefighters who lost their lives during the dock explosion in Mumbai on 14 April 1944 and sacrificed their lives while performing their duties. He has appealed to the managers of all government and private schools of Una district to ensure maximum participation of children.
