Extreme heat and rain in some places in Punjab.

Chandigarh, June 15 - After the extreme heat in Punjab for several days, rain in some places in the state last night has given people a slight relief from the heat. Most cities of Punjab recorded a drop of 3 to 4 degrees in the temperature during the past 24 hours, due to which people breathed a sigh of relief. The temperature in most cities of Punjab has been recorded around 40 degrees today. The Bathinda Airport area has been the hottest in the state, where the maximum temperature was 42.2 degrees.

The temperature in most cities of Punjab has been recorded around 40 degrees today. The Bathinda Airport area has been the hottest in the state, where the maximum temperature was 42.2 degrees. Meanwhile, scientists have predicted that the weather will remain the same in Punjab for the next 2-3 days. During this, winds will blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour and light rain may also fall at some places after thunderstorms.
According to the information received, light rain has fallen in some places in Patiala, Chandigarh, Ferozepur, Abohar and many other areas of Punjab late last night. Due to strong winds accompanied by rain, the temperature has dropped today. However, the sun had gone out in most of the cities of Punjab by dawn, due to which the heat increased. With the change in the weather, the demand for electricity in Punjab also decreased today. The demand for electricity in Punjab has been recorded at 14,923 MW, which was running at more than 16 thousand MW for the last several days. With the decrease in temperature in the next 2-3 three days, the demand for electricity is also likely to decrease further. According to the information received from the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature recorded today in Bathinda city was 41.6 degrees, Faridkot 40, Amritsar 39.5, Pathankot 39.8, Gurdaspur and Ferozepur 39, Ludhiana 38.6, Fazilka 38.2, Jalandhar 38.4, Moga 38, Chandigarh 37.7, Hoshiarpur 37.5, Mohali 37, Fatehgarh Sahib 35.1, Ropar 35, Nawanshahr 34.8 and Patiala 34.1 degrees.
