Saudi airline plane carrying Hajj pilgrims suffers engine failure, sparks come out of wheels.

Lucknow, June 16 - An alarm was sounded at the airport here after a Saudi airline plane carrying 242 Hajj pilgrims from Jeddah caught fire while landing. The incident took place at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport on Sunday morning and all the passengers were safely evacuated. The plane was also not damaged.

Sources told this news agency, "Smoke was seen coming out of the wheels of the Saudi airline plane carrying 242 Hajj pilgrims from Jeddah." He said, "The aircraft rescue and fire brigade team reached the spot. The smoke was brought under control in collaboration with the Saudi team and the damage to the plane was averted." 
He said that the incident did not affect the operations of the airport. Sources said the empty plane will depart for its return today.
