Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday was his first address of his second term in the White House. During this, he said, “India charges us over 100 percent auto tax.” Trump has made it clear to Prime Minister Modi that India will not be spared from Washington’s reciprocal tax and stressed that “nobody can argue with me” on the tax structure. “China’s average tax on our products is double and South Korea’s average tax is four times higher,” he said. In February, President Trump had said that his administration would soon impose reciprocal taxes on countries like India and China. Trump added that the reciprocal taxes would start from April 2 and whatever “they tax us, other countries, we will tax them.”
