
Drug smugglers' property worth Rs 2 crore 78 lakh seized
Dharamkot 27 February- Punjab Police has seized property worth Rs 3.5 crore of five drug smugglers of village Mardarpur in the constituency. Sub-Divisional Officer Ramandeep Singh said that this action has been taken against five drug smugglers of village Mardarpur as part of the campaign launched to seize properties made through illegal drug trade.
Dharamkot 27 February- Punjab Police has seized property worth Rs 3.5 crore of five drug smugglers of village Mardarpur in the constituency. Sub-Divisional Officer Ramandeep Singh said that this action has been taken against five drug smugglers of village Mardarpur as part of the campaign launched to seize properties made through illegal drug trade.
He said that the process to seize their properties was initiated after 52 kg of poppy husk was seized from four drug smugglers of the village. The property worth Rs 2 crore 78 lakh of the accused named in the case registered in this regard, Veer Singh son of Bohar Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Sona Singh son of Gurmukh Singh and Surjit Singh Keeru, made through drug smuggling, has been seized after completing the official process.
The police have pasted notices on the seized property. DSP Ramandeep Singh said on this occasion that people involved in the illegal business of drug trafficking will not be spared. During this operation, a large number of police personnel were present, including Police Station Superintendent Anwar Hussain, Police Station Kot Ise Khan Superintendent Sunita Bawa, etc.
