S.A.S.Nagar, February 27, 2025: In his effort to replace the traditional police beat boxes with modern beat boxes, SSP Deepak Pareek launched modern police beat boxes on rooftop lights. He said the move is aimed at giving these beat boxes a new look with updated infrastructure like CCTV cameras and flashing lights and to make police access easier.
Besides, these beat boxes will also prove beneficial for the police personnel on duty, who will stay in them during bad weather or night duty. He said the beat boxes have been equipped with running LEDs to convey important information to the people.
He said this is the third modern beat box installed today, after the district's first modern beat box was inaugurated at Majri a few days ago and the district's second modern beat box was inaugurated at Airport Road.
He said soon such modern beat boxes with new look will be installed at Airport Chowk and Zirakpur as well. He said that the CCTVs installed on these beat boxes will be helpful in preventing traffic rule violations as well as in dealing with accident cases and keeping a close watch on mischievous elements.
He said that in the coming days, such booths will be set up all over Mohali to increase police surveillance in the district, which will help in keeping an eye on people with criminal tendencies and instilling fear of law in them.
