24 February Nawanshahr- As per the directions issued by Election Commission of India, Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Additional District Election Officer Rajiv Verma today held a meeting with the representatives of recognized political parties of the district regarding appointment of their Booth Level Agents at each polling station for each recognized political party.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner appealed to all the political parties to appoint their respective BLAs (Booth Level Agents) at all the polling stations of the three assembly constituencies of the district, so that the BLO appointed at the respective polling station can get the necessary assistance.
He also said that the BLA should be a voter of the same polling station where he is to be appointed and he should be related to the Government or local administration or PSU. He said that the appointed BLA can prepare the list of votes cast, deleted or corrected at his polling station and he can give a maximum of 10 forms to the BLO at a time.
Apart from this, the political party can also issue identity card to the appointed BLA. Representatives of various recognized political parties were present on this occasion.
