
Punjab Pensioners Welfare Association Zone Garhshankar Meeting
Garhshankar: Today, on April 6, 2025, the monthly meeting of Punjab Pensioners Welfare Association Zone Garhshankar was held at Gandhi Park Banga Chowk Garhshankar under the chairmanship of Shri Sarup Chand Zonal President Ji. The members present in the meeting first paid tribute to the death of pensioner friend Shri Kaushal Bhatia Ji by observing a two-minute silence. The struggles of employees and pensioners were reviewed in the meeting.

The members present in the meeting first paid tribute to the death of pensioner friend Shri Kaushal Bhatia Ji by observing a two-minute silence. The struggles of employees and pensioners were reviewed in the meeting.
The governments were criticized for keeping aloof from the legitimate demands of employees and pensioners. Addressing the meeting, Shri Sarup Chand Ji criticized the way the Punjab government paid the dues of the 6th Pay Commission given to pensioners and employees from 1/1/2016 and criticized it for not fully implementing the Sixth Punjab Pay Commission on pensioners.
Shri Balwant Ram strongly condemned the attitude and policy of the Punjab government towards the employees and pensioners. He emphasized the long pending demands of the pensioners to revise the pension with a coefficient of 2.59, increase the medical allowance to Rs. 2,000 and re-implement the cashless medical scheme. Shri Parmanand Ji raised the demand for release of remaining installments of DA and release of arrears of previous installments.
He informed the colleagues about the latest status of the cases pending in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. S: Dalvir Singh Ji discussed in detail the negative policy of the present Punjab government and the central government towards the employees and pensioners and also condemned the peaceful agitation of the farmers and laborers. Finally, the speakers appealed to be ready for the next struggles.
Today's meeting was attended by Shri Parmanand, Satpal Singh, Balwant Ram, Roshan Lal Verma, Kulwant Singh, Rattan Singh, Shangara Ram, Saroop Chand, Sohan Lal, Dalvir Singh, Mahinga Ram, Lambar Singh, Gurmeet Ram, Joginder Singh and Khanna ji.
