Krishi Vigyan Kendra organised field day at village Padddi Sura Singh

Hoshiarpur- Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bahowal organised field day on wheat sowing after stubble management at village Padddi Sura Singh adopting stubble management. At the beginning of the camp, Dr Maninder Singh Bounce, Associate Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra emphasised that farmers should not burn paddy stubble and should manage it properly through available machinery and techniques to save the environment from pollution.

At the beginning of the camp, Dr Maninder Singh Bounce, Associate Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra emphasised that farmers should not burn paddy stubble and should manage it properly through available machinery and techniques to save the environment from pollution.
He said that like previous years, this time also Krishi Vigyan Kendra has taken up various extension activities in the form of campaigns through awareness camps, training programmes, exhibitions, hoardings and provision of agricultural literature and machinery. He said that due to the initiatives of the departments under the able leadership of the district administration and full cooperation of the farmers, the cases of stubble burning have reduced significantly this year and only 29 cases have been reported in the district.
He also praised the progressive farmers of Padddi Sura Singh who contributed to achieving this objective and not a single case of stubble burning was reported in the village. On this occasion, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering) Dr. Ajaib Singh elaborated on the use and demonstration of available machinery for stubble management - Surface Seeder, Smart Seeder, Super Seeder, Happy Seeder, Reverse Solution, Zero Till Drill, Rotavator and Baler and also made the farmers aware about the use of stubble in animal feed, mulch, mushroom production, energy, fertilizer and cardboard industry.
Sunita, Program Assistant, Krishi Vigyan Kendra explained the importance of soil testing and the method of taking samples for soil testing. After paddy stubble management, the farmers also visited wheat sowing demonstration fields, where KVK scientists discussed their concerns with the farmers.
For the convenience of farmers, summer vegetable kits and scrap metal for animals were also made available for sale during the Farm Day and agricultural literature was also provided. At the end, Panch Kulwant Singh of village Padddi Sura Singh thanked the experts and farmers who had come.
