Deputy Commissioner holds meeting to review Republic Day preparations at Government College Phase 6

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, January 20, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Ashika Jain today held a meeting to review the preparations for the Republic Day to be held on January 26 at the grounds of Shaheed Major (Shaurya Chakra) Harminderpal Singh Government College Phase 6, Mohali at the college ground.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, January 20, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Ashika Jain today held a meeting to review the preparations for the Republic Day to be held on January 26 at the grounds of Shaheed Major (Shaurya Chakra) Harminderpal Singh Government College Phase 6, Mohali at the college ground. This time Speaker of Punjab Assembly S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan is arriving to hoist the national flag at the district level function.
On the occasion, she reviewed the preparations made by all the officers as per the responsibilities assigned to them and said that no stone should be left unturned to organize this day of national importance smoothly. She said that Independence Day and Republic Day are the most important days of our country, which make us come to know about important historical events like the enactment of the Constitution to build the India of the dreams of the freedom fighters and later the martyrs who contributed to the independence. He said that these days will always remind our young generation and children how much the people of India love their country.
On this occasion, he got detailed information about the progress made department wise regarding traffic and security arrangements, rehearsal of cultural program by school children, preparations for march past by police and NCC cadets, their seating arrangement in view of cold, tableaux based on development and welfare schemes to be presented during the program. The Deputy Commissioner said on this occasion that the district administration will welcome with open heart the gallantry award winners and freedom fighters and their families who have made exceptional contribution in the freedom struggle of the country during the program.
He appealed that freedom fighters/families are invited to attend this program. On this occasion, Mrs. Ashika Jain also distributed 321 track suits on behalf of District Red Cross Society to protect the students of government schools participating in cultural programs from cold. Additional Deputy Commissioners of the district Viraj S. Tidke, Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, Sonam Chaudhary, SP Traffic H.S. Mann, SDM Mohali Damandeep Kaur, Municipal Corporation Joint Commissioner Deepankar Garg, Assistant Commissioner (G) Dr. Ankita Kansal and officers from other departments of the district were present.
