Nawanshahr/Banga- The entire staff of Sikh National College Banga organised a farewell function for Prof. Gurpreet Singh, a hard working teacher of the college, who has served them for 10 years. The function was organised by the entire staff under the guidance of the college's Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh Bhinder.
Sharing his views on the occasion, Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh Bhinder said that after giving excellent and unmatched services to the Punjabi, Music and Culture Department of the college, Prof. Gurpreet Singh is going to New Zealand to join his family and Prof. Gurpreet Singh will always be remembered for these excellent services.
He also said that Prof. Gurpreet Singh may be abroad, but he will remain connected with the institution through some means or the other, as it is not easy to fill his void and he is now also an executive member of the college's Alumni Association. Head of Punjabi Department Dr. Nirmaljit Kaur also said that Prof. Gurpreet Singh has brought many laudable achievements to the college during his service, among which making the college four times Youth Festival champion has been special.
Speaking during the ceremony, Prof. Abid Wakkar also appreciated Prof. Gurpreet Singh for his excellent services to the Journalism Department of the college. Wishing him a better future, Prof. Tajinder Singh shared memories of Prof. Gurpreet Singh's golden years in the college. On this occasion, the college presented medals and valuable gifts on behalf of all the staff, department and collegiate school. Prof. Gurpreet Singh was wished all the best for the future. Shahid Ali, Inderpreet Kaur, Yuvraj Sidhu, Aadi and colleagues presented songs for their beloved teacher.
The song "Bota Ronge Dilan De Jani, Maape Tenu Ghat Ronge" sung by Shahid Ali made everyone emotional. Prof. Gurpreet Singh thanked the college for the honour given to him and said that no one has made me as proud as this college has made me. The students expressed their gratitude towards Prof. Gurpreet Singh was garlanded and a grand party was organized in the honor of Prof. Gurpreet Singh at Anmol Restaurant by the entire teaching staff of the college.
On this occasion, journalist Narinder Mahi, Surinder Karam, Dr. Harjot Singh, Dr. Sunidhi Miglani, Dr. Kamaldeep Kaur, Prof. Amrit Kaur, Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Paramjit Singh, Dr. Navneet Kaur, Prof. Tavinder Kaur, Manmant Singh Librarian, Jatinder Mohan and the entire staff and students of the college were present.
