Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, January 7: As part of the series of events being celebrated from January 1 to January 31 to ensure safe and smooth operation of road traffic across the country as per the directions of the Government of India and the Government of Punjab, today Pradeep Singh Dhillon, Regional Transport Officer, SAS Nagar (Mohali) distributed road safety awareness literature to about 400 people including transporters who came to the office for work and appealed to drive safely and be cautious during these foggy days.
On this occasion, ASI Harjinder Singh posted in the office also informed the people about the road rules and said that do not hurry while driving as it is better to be late than never and people were also requested to wear helmets and seat belts.
The RTO also appealed to the people not to drive at an early age. Nowadays the fine for challan has also increased a lot, which also causes financial loss and parents may have to go to jail. Kamaljeet Chopra, Vivek Ratan and other staff also participated in this program. This action will continue for the whole month and the RTO has written letters to various departments related to road safety and asked them to take action regarding road safety and make efforts to make traffic safe in their jurisdiction.
