SAS Nagar, December 8, 2024: Municipal Commissioner, T. Benith, with the aim of removing the problems faced by the city residents, checked different parts of the city last night with different teams. On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Ranjeev Kumar, Corporation Engineer Kamaldeep Singh, Head Draftsman Mukhtiar Singh and Sanitary Inspector Jagroop Singh were present with him.
During the review of temporary illegal occupations by showroom owners and street vendors in the market of Sector 67, 68 and Phase 1, 3, 5 and 7, the Commissioner talked to the shopkeepers and some street vendors present on the spot. And they were explained that the illegal occupations made by them should be removed as soon as possible.
If these goods are not removed by them, then action will be taken under the rules by the Tehbazari team of the Municipal Corporation. Later, the Commissioner along with Corporation Engineer Kamaldeep Singh also checked the street lights in various areas of the city (industrial areas, main roads and Kargil Park Sector 71).
He instructed the officers present on the spot to ensure that no ward remains dark. On this occasion, the public toilets in the park were also checked. He also checked the mechanical cleaning (sweeping) done in the city at night from Verka to Max Hospital, from Bhinan Ke Dhaba to Deplast Chowk and Shahi Majra Road.
During the checking, the Commissioner gave guidelines to the contractor and his team present on the spot to clean properly.
