
Mock drill organized on fire accident at Mini Secretariat Una
Una, October 14 - A mock drill was organized by the District Disaster Management Authority Una at the Mini Secretariat on Monday under the International Risk Reduction Day and Samarth-2024 campaign. All the officers and employees of the Mini Secretariat actively participated in this mock drill organized under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Mahendra Pal Gurjar. This mock drill was focused on assessing security preparedness during disasters like fire and increasing public awareness, so that the safety of life and property can be effectively ensured in emergency situations.

This mock drill was focused on assessing security preparedness during disasters like fire and increasing public awareness, so that the safety of life and property can be effectively ensured in emergency situations.
Mahendra Pal Gurjar said that the main objective of this mock drill is to evaluate the preparedness towards disaster management and to promote awareness. He said that with such exercises, not only the officers and employees but also the general public remain alert and prepared in emergency situations, which can reduce the loss of life and property.
This was the scenario of the mock drill
As part of the mock drill, a scenario of fire due to short circuit was created on the third floor of the Mini Secretariat at 11 am. As soon as the emergency siren sounded, the officers and employees immediately came out through the designated safe routes. The general public present in the Secretariat also followed this procedure patiently. The police controlled the situation and ensured that there was no panic.
As soon as the information was received from the District Emergency Operation Center Una, the fire department team reached the spot and controlled the fire. Also, Home Guard personnel started search and rescue work. During this mock drill, four people who were symbolically injured were safely rescued and after first aid, they were referred to the Regional Hospital Una.
Commandant Home Guard Major Vikas Saklani, ASP Sanjeev Bhatia, Battalion Administrative Officer Dheeraj Sharma, DDMA Coordinator Suman Chahal, SFO Suresh Kumar and other officers were present in this mock drill.
