
Samarthya Program: Now unlimited girls will get financial help
Una, September 2 - The Una district administration has made an important change in the financial assistance given to girls from poor families for higher education under the Samarthya program. The limit of 25 girls in the first phase has now been made unlimited. With this step, more and more girls will be able to get the benefit of this scheme.

The eligibility to get benefits under this scheme is for those girls whose father has passed away or who are more than 70 percent disabled. Apart from this, the applicant should have taken admission in an institute for higher education after 12th, and the annual income of their family should not exceed 50 thousand rupees. It is also a condition that they should not have taken benefit of any other scheme. The beneficiary should be a permanent resident of Una district. Apart from this, the administration has also made a provision of financial assistance of up to Rs 1 lakh for the preparation of NEET and UPSC examinations for the girls of poor families.
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that this initiative will help the girls from poor families to fulfill their dreams of higher education. The aim of the Samarthya program is to empower youth, women, and various sections of the society and promote community development.
