Adampur:- A youth was shot dead on Monday morning in Daroali Kalan village of Adampur. Following the incident, the Jalandhar Rural Police acted swiftly and arrested the main accused, Manpreet Singh alias Gangu, and also recovered the Glock 9mm pistol used in the crime.
According to the police, the incident took place at around 11 a.m. when Davinder Singh alias Baja, a resident of Damunda, had gone to the house of Manpreet alias Gangu. A short while later, he was shot inside a room of the house, resulting in his death on the spot.
District Police Chief Harvinder Singh Virk said that the preliminary investigation revealed that five people were present inside the room at the time of the incident. During the investigation, Harman, Varun, and Akash were also identified, and raids are being conducted to arrest them.
According to the police, 10 to 12 rounds were fired from the Glock 9mm pistol, causing significant damage to the room as well.
SSP Virk said that the deceased, Davinder Singh alias Baja, was a hardcore criminal who had recently been released from jail on bail. Three serious criminal cases were registered against him, and he had previously been arrested in a police encounter.
The preliminary investigation suggests that the motive behind the murder was an old personal rivalry. A case has been registered at Adampur Police Station, and the police are conducting a detailed investigation into the matter.
