Karnal, September 30:- Under the able guidance and direction of Karnal Superintendent of Police Mr. Karan Goyal, IPS, strict action is continuously being taken in the district to curb illegal activities and against those illegally storing and manufacturing explosive material. In this connection, the team of Police Station Assandh has achieved a major success by apprehending two accused in a case involving illegal possession and manufacture of firecrackers without a valid licence and permit and recovering 74 boxes of ready-made firecrackers along with material used for manufacturing firecrackers from their possession.

In this regard, on the basis of reliable secret information received by Police Station Assandh SHO Inspector Rajesh Kumar and his police team under the leadership of DSP Assandh Mr. Gorkhpal Rana, it was learnt that a large quantity of illegally prepared firecrackers had been stored without any valid licence or permit at the house of Vinod Gupta, son of Nandu, located near Ward No. 10, Assandh, and that firecrackers were also being manufactured there. After confirming the information, the police team promptly conducted a raid and apprehended two accused from the spot.

The arrested accused were identified as Amandeep, son of Jagtar Singh, resident of Ward No. 10, Assandh, and Ajay, son of Karma, resident of Village Bahri, District Karnal.

The police asked the accused to produce valid licences and permits for possessing or manufacturing explosive material and firecrackers, but the accused could not produce any valid documents at the spot. During a thorough search of the house, the police team recovered 74 boxes of ready-made firecrackers along with raw material and equipment used for manufacturing firecrackers. The police took all the recovered explosive material into possession and sealed it as per the prescribed procedure.

In this regard, a case has been registered at Police Station Assandh under the relevant sections of the Explosives Act and both accused have been arrested. The police are conducting detailed interrogation of the accused regarding the network and supply chain of this illegal business, and further investigation in the case is underway.
