Karnal, September 16:- A special programme was organised at the District Congress Office, Karnal, on Wednesday under the Organisation Creation Campaign with the objective of further strengthening and making the Women Congress organisation more effective at the grassroots level and promoting new women leadership. Mrs. Rupinder Kaur, in-charge of the Organisation Creation Campaign, was specially present at the programme.
During the programme held at 1 p.m., applications and nominations were received from women workers interested in various responsibilities and positions in the organisation. On this occasion, the women workers shared their views on strengthening the organisation, raising public issues prominently and taking the ideology of the Congress to every household.
Mrs. Rupinder Kaur said that the real strength of an organisation lies in its grassroots workers and that women workers have a very important role in this. She said that the objective of the Organisation Creation Campaign was not merely to assign positions and responsibilities, but to provide leadership opportunities to active, dedicated and committed women workers who could continuously strengthen the organisation by remaining among the people.
District President of the District Congress Committee (Urban), Karnal, Parag Gaba, said that women’s strength is an important force of the Congress organisation and a serious effort is being made through the Organisation Creation Campaign to bring forward new leadership capabilities. He said that women workers who have been working hard for the organisation for years should be given responsibilities and opportunities for leadership.
Parag Gaba said, “Our aim is not merely to increase the number of positions in the organisation, but to prepare strong leadership that can become the voice of the organisation while remaining among the people. The active participation of women workers will give new strength to the Congress organisation from the booth level to the district level.”
He said that efforts were being made through the Organisation Creation Campaign to bring new energy, new ideas and new leadership forward in the Congress. By strengthening the Women Congress, the organisation would be made more active and effective at the grassroots level.
Madhur Thakur, Navjot Kashyap, Sharda Sidhu, Santosh Gill, Sudesh Rani, Sapna Rana, Risha Nain, Eesha Sharma, Binder Poswal, Joginder Valmiki, Dilsher Dachar and Devi Singh, along with other women workers, were present at the programme. All of them expressed their resolve to strengthen the organisation and play an active role in upcoming activities.
