Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 9 September:- In accordance with the directions of the Election Commission of India and keeping in view the preparations for the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Elections-2027 and the important role of young voters, Voter Camps-1 and 2 were organised at Shaheed Major Harminder Pal Singh Government College, Mohali, on 8 and 9 September 2026. The camps were organised under the guidance of the college Principal, Mrs. Jaspreet Bains.
The camps were organised under the leadership of SVEEP Nodal Officer Professor Simarpreet Kaur, Head, Department of Physical Education. The main objective of the camps was to motivate students who had completed 18 years of age to register themselves as voters and make them aware of the importance of their right to vote.
As per the directions of College Principal Mrs. Jaspreet Bains, students were explained that voting is not only their right but also an important responsibility. While motivating them to use their vote correctly and responsibly, they were informed that the active participation of every eligible citizen can make an important contribution towards building a better future for the country and society.
During the voter camp, students were also provided information regarding the process of registering as voters and encouraged to play an active role in the democratic process.
On this occasion, Professor Navneet Kaur, Professor Sukhwinder Singh, Professor Gayatri, Professor Parwinder Kaur, Professor Rupinder Kaur, Professor Rohini Sharma, Professor Harpreet Kaur, Professor Kulwinder Kaur, Professor Sarabjit Kaur, Professor Premlata, Professor Davinder Singh, Professor Sabina, Professor Rupinder Kaur and other staff members were also present.
Through the camp, students were given the message to register themselves as voters, actively participate in the democratic process and responsibly exercise their right to vote.
