Chandigarh, November 18: Today, Vishwa Punjabi Punjabi Prachar Sabha, Chandigarh, organized a children's conference and a religious children's kavi darbar at Kids & Kids Secondary School, Sector 42, Chandigarh, dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The function was presided over by Vice Principal Jasmine Kaur, with Principal Bahadur Singh Gosal as the special guest.
Secondary office bearers of Vishwa Punjabi Prachar Sabha, Chandigarh, including Senior Vice President Jagtar Singh Jog, General Secretary Avtar Singh Mehtapuri, Joint Secretary Shri Krishna Rahi, Chief Advisor Pal Ajnabi, and Advisor Balwinder Singh were also present. Vice Principal Jasmine Kaur welcomed the guests, and then the school children began the poetry court with religious poems.
Following the children's poems, the organization's office bearers also presented their poems dedicated to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. Earlier, on the occasion of the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the organization's president, Pandit Bahadur Singh Gosal, provided detailed information about the life of the Ninth Guru to the children and teachers.
He explained that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji personally went to Delhi and sacrificed his life against oppression and injustice, shaking the roots of Aurangzeb's tyrannical rule. He gave the world a new direction and sacrificed his life to protect Hinduism.
He also recounted how Bhai Jaita Ji, amidst great difficulties, brought Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's head from Delhi to Anandpur Sahib. Jagtar Singh Jog also shed light on Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's life and recited two poems written by Pandit Bahadur Singh Gosal, "Aao Tahshun Itihas" and "Shaheedi Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji," in a unique style.
Mr. Avtar Singh Mehitpuri recited a poem on "Balidan Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji," Krishna Rahi recited a poem on the martyrdom of the younger Sahibzadas, while Mr. Pal Ajnabi dedicated his new poem to Martyrdom Day, highlighting the Guru's history. A large number of school children and children's poets were also present at the event.
In the second phase of the program, 40 students from the school were honored by the organization's officials with books and medals written by Prof. Gosal. The school's Punjabi teachers and Vice Principal, Mrs. Jasmine Kaur, were honored on this occasion. The honored teachers included Principal Anupam Grewal, Hasinka Maidan, Mrs. Amanpreet Kaur, Mrs. Swati, and Mrs. Nisha.
All the organization's officials and poets presented mementos and sets of books to the Principal and teachers. The school's Managing Committee honored all the organization's officials with mementos. Finally, the program organizer, Mrs. Amanpreet Kaur, thanked the guests and audience.
