Una, July 17:- On the fourth day of the second phase of the special outreach campaign conducted by the Department of Information and Public Relations, artists from the 'Purvi Kalamanch' (Jalgran Tabba) presented public awareness programs today (Friday) at Jakhera and Bahdala Lower in the Una subdivision. Through music and street plays, the artists informed villagers about the state government's welfare schemes for Scheduled Castes, public welfare policies, achievements, and the anti-drug campaign.
During the awareness program, the artists explained that under the Himachal government's computer training scheme, there is a provision to provide one-year PGDCA and DCA computer courses to individuals belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes (OBCs), and minority communities, as well as to persons with disabilities, widows, single women, and deserted women.
Additionally, during the training period, a monthly allowance of ?1,000 and a placement-related stipend of ?1,500 are provided to trainees from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, OBCs, and minority communities, as well as to widows and single women.
Furthermore, the scheme includes a provision for a monthly allowance of ?1,200 and a placement-related stipend of ?1,800 for persons with disabilities. They stated that to avail the benefits of the scheme, the applicant must be between 18 and 35 years of age, and the family's annual income must be less than ?2 lakh.
The performance troupes also provided information to the villagers about the 'Mukhyamantri Sukh Aashray Yojana', 'Indira Gandhi Sukh Shiksha Yojana', and 'Indira Gandhi Sukh Suraksha Yojana', alongside other welfare schemes.
Moreover, placing special emphasis on drug abuse prevention, the artists described drug abuse as a serious social evil and urged people to stay away from drugs and to raise awareness within society about this issue.
**Schedule of Upcoming Public Awareness Programs**
On July 18—the final day of the special outreach campaign organized by Purvi Kala Manch, Jalgran Tabba—residents of Paroiyan Kalan and Pansai will be informed about public welfare schemes through a mix of entertainment and educational activities, including music and street plays.
Local residents present on the occasion included Jakhera Pradhan Jasvir Kaur, Bahdala Lower Pradhan Kusum Lata, Deputy Pradhan Naresh Bagga, and Ward Members Sanjay Singh, Kajal, Lakshmi Devi, and Jyoti Lal Bagga.
