Ludhiana March 28, 2026- The Management Board of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana has approved the revised stipend for its veterinary intern students, which is a significant step towards strengthening student support and professional training in the university.
Sharing his views on this important decision, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Dr. Jatinder Pal Singh Gill said that the meeting was held on March 26, 2026 and this approval reflects the university’s continued commitment to the welfare and academic development of its students.
He disclosed that the stipend will be applicable for the students after the official notification is issued, adding that all necessary administrative procedures are being completed to ensure its smooth implementation.
Dr. Gill said that internship is an important stage in veterinary and animal science education, where students gain practical experience in clinical practice, livestock management and field-level problem-solving. He said that the enhanced stipend will reduce the financial burden on the students during their internship period and motivate them to perform their duties with greater dedication and professionalism.
He said that this initiative is in line with the vision of the university to produce skilled, confident and field-ready graduates who can contribute effectively in the animal husbandry sector.
Meanwhile, the university authorities have strongly condemned the misleading statements circulated by a section of students in the media stating that the university is not taking any action on the issue of stipend. Clarifying the matter, Dr. Gill said that the issue has already been resolved and has been approved through appropriate institutional process.
He termed such misrepresentation as “baseless and misleading information”. He said that the university has consistently worked in the interests of its students and appealed to the students to trust official information instead of unverified information, as the university administration is committed to transparency and student welfare.
