Hoshiarpur- Veterinary inspectors working in the Animal Husbandry Department have been struggling for their demands. Veterinary inspectors are the backbone of the department. This cadre does most of the work of the department, all government schemes, whether they are schemes of the Central Government or schemes of the Punjab Government, are implemented at the ground level by this cadre.
2010 posts in the department are of Veterinary Inspectors, which are 50% of the employees working in the department, being a large part of the department, most of the work is done by this cadre, which the officer of the department is well aware of.
The biggest obstacle in the demands of the veterinary inspectors has also been the official of the department, the association has held several meetings with the cabinet minister of the department, Hon'ble Gurmeet Singh Khudiyan regarding the demands of the veterinary inspectors. A few days ago, the association representatives also held a meeting with the honorable finance minister of the Punjab government, Sardar Harpal Singh Cheema.
But it is a matter of great regret that despite the two cabinet ministers of Punjab agreeing to the demands of the veterinary inspectors, the Punjab government has not issued any notification on any of the demands so far. It feels as if the Punjab government is working under the pressure of the official.
The Veterinary Inspectors Association Punjab has worked to rule on its demands. Which is still going on even after a month, along with this, all kinds of online reporting has also been boycotted, due to which the online reporting of foot-and-mouth vaccination has come to a standstill, which has created a lot of confusion among the department's officials.
The department's officials are issuing various letters to put pressure on the veterinary inspectors working in the field, but the veterinary inspectors across Punjab are completely adamant about their demands. Sharing information with the press, the association's president Gurdeep Singh Bassi and state press secretary Gurjit Singh said that their struggle will continue until the government accepts their demands.
