Karnal, July 21: Senior Advocate Rajkumar Sharma, who previously contested the Lok Sabha elections from Karnal, stated that the country's youth and students are steadily losing faith in the government and the system. Recurring paper leaks in competitive examinations, rising unemployment, and growing despair among the youth reflect the government's failure.
He remarked that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has completely failed to discharge his duties. He should step down, accepting moral responsibility, and the Prime Minister ought to remove him from the cabinet immediately. Sharma described the lathi-charge on students peacefully protesting to demand the Education Minister's resignation as extremely unfortunate and shameful for democracy. Instead of resorting to force, the government should engage in dialogue with the students.
He asserted that India can become a 'Vishwa Guru' (global leader) only when its youth are empowered with self-confidence and ample opportunities. If the future of the youth becomes bleak, the nation's development will also be adversely affected. He noted that in a democracy, every citizen has the right to express their views and stage peaceful protests. Since governments are elected by the people, those in power should not adopt an autocratic attitude.
Rajkumar Sharma claimed that crores of educated youths in the country are unemployed, and the futures of hardworking students are being jeopardized by frequent paper leaks. He added that despair is driving many young people to take extreme steps, such as suicide. He urged the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to intervene in the matter and ensure the protection of the youth's future.
