New Delhi:- The Union Cabinet has decided to increase the remunerative price of sugarcane to Rs 365 per quintal for the crop year 2026-27. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, while giving information in this regard, said that this step of the government has been taken in the interest of crores of sugarcane farmers of the country.
This decision taken in view of the cost of living in the agriculture sector will enable farmers to get the right price for their hard work. This decision has come at a time when the government is focusing on strengthening agricultural infrastructure and the economic condition of farmers.
The Center has said that there should be no delay in the payment of farmers by sugar mills. It has also been instructed that the authorities should maintain order at the procurement centers. Along with this, the government has made it clear that India is committed to protecting its food security and the interests of farmers.
