Haroli/Una, March 31 (Rajveer Chopra): The Haroli Police have achieved a major breakthrough by solving the largest burglary incident ever recorded in Una district in a mere 12 hours. Acting under the directives of Superintendent of Police Sachin Hirameth and the guidance of Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Rawat, the police team took swift action and arrested an accused individual, recovering gold and silver jewelry worth approximately ?35 lakhs.
According to reports, on March 30, 2026, the owner of ‘Kaushal Jewelers’—located near Saloh Chowk under the jurisdiction of the Haroli Police Station—filed a complaint stating that late at night, unidentified thieves had broken the shop's shutter and stolen approximately 100 grams of gold and 8 kilograms of silver jewelry from the safe. Upon receiving this information, the police team from the Pandoga outpost immediately rushed to the scene, and the Station House Officer (SHO), Sunil Sankhyan, was apprised of the matter.
Given the gravity of the incident, the police immediately constituted several separate teams and initiated an investigation based on CCTV footage, human intelligence, and technical surveillance. Thanks to the police's rapid response, this "blind case" (a case with no immediate leads) was solved within just 12 hours, leading to the arrest of an accused individual from Hoshiarpur, Punjab.
The arrested accused has been identified as Man Singh, son of Ramakant Paswan, a resident of Kishanganj district (Bihar). He is a mason by profession and had previously worked in this region. He was able to execute this crime because he possessed intimate knowledge of the area.
The police have recovered the stolen jewelry, valued at approximately ?35 lakhs, from the accused's possession. The accused has been brought to Haroli and is currently undergoing interrogation. The police are actively searching for other accomplices, and it is anticipated that the entire criminal gang will be exposed very soon.
Following this major success, local residents and the owner of ‘Kaushal Jewelers’ have expressed their gratitude to the police. The police state that this revelation has raised hopes of solving other theft cases that have occurred in the area.
