Una, August 29: The construction of the Tyudi-Pandoga bridge over the Swan River in the Haroli Assembly constituency, costing ?52 crore, is progressing rapidly, fulfilling a long-standing demand of the region. Spanning over half a kilometer, this bridge will not only improve connectivity but also provide fresh momentum to development and economic activities in the area. The project, including the approach roads, is targeted for completion by March 2027.
The construction of the Tyudi-Pandoga bridge will directly benefit approximately 15 surrounding panchayats. Additionally, it will facilitate easier travel for thousands of people across the Haroli, Gagret, Kutlehar, and Chintpurni Assembly constituencies. Once completed, the bridge will reduce the travel distance between Pandoga and Tyudi by about 15 kilometers, saving both time and fuel for commuters. Improved road connectivity is also expected to boost employment, trade, and other economic activities in the region.
Given its size and length, this bridge over the Swan River will be a significant achievement for the area. Himachal Pradesh's longest bridge, the Rampur Bridge, is already located in the Haroli constituency; upon completion, the Tyudi-Pandoga bridge will also set a new benchmark in terms of length and importance. The project will provide a permanent solution to the long-standing connectivity issues faced by the local population.
The bridge design incorporates a total of 13 spans; work on 11 of these has already been completed. Construction of the remaining two spans will be carried out after the monsoon season. Simultaneously, the work on the connecting roads will also be completed according to the scheduled timeline.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri stated that the Tyudi-Pandoga bridge was a long-cherished dream for the local residents, one that is now becoming a reality. He stated that this is not merely the construction of a bridge, but a significant step towards the region's development and the fulfillment of a long-standing need of the people.
A permanent solution is now being provided for a problem where people previously had to rely on a small culvert to cross the Swan River, constantly facing the risk of accidents. He added that the Tyudi-Pandoga bridge would serve as a new foundation for improved connectivity, trade, and development in the region in the future.
