Chandigarh, November 9-Haryana's Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Mr. Anil Vij has directed the police to take strict action against two agents who illegally sent two youths of Defence Colony of Ambala Cantonment to Russia.
Mr. Vij was listening to the problems of citizens from Ambala Cantonment assembly constituency during a public hearing at his residence in Ambala Cantonment on Sunday.
The complainant, a resident of Defence Colony, said that two agents, residents of village Panjokhra Sahib and Dianbagh, had tricked him into sending him to Georgia and demanded five lakh rupees in return. The complainant handed over the money to them but instead of Georgia, he was sent to Mecca. Later, the agents illegally sent him to Russia on a tourist visa where he was arrested by the local police. He was kept in jail for about two months and then deported back to India. He alleged that the agents cheated him of about Rs 8.5 lakh.
Similarly, the second person also accused both these agents of sending him to Russia illegally and cheating him. He said that after reaching Russia, he did not get a work permit and when he contacted the agent, he was threatened. Later, the Russian police arrested him and deported him to India. The youth has accused the agents of cheating him of about Rs 9 lakh.
Considering the seriousness of both the cases, Minister Anil Vij directed the police authorities to immediately investigate and take strict action against the accused. Along with this, the Energy Minister also heard many other complaints and gave clear instructions to the concerned departments and authorities to take immediate and effective action.
