Patiala, February 2 - As the desire of people to go abroad is increasing, the number of those who cheat people who want to go abroad is also increasing. There have been two reports of such cheating in the district. Manpreet Singh of Pahar Khurd village has been involved in a fraud of Rs 42 lakh, who has registered a case against the three accused Manish Kumar, Vijay Kumar (Rajpura) and Paramjit Singh Bhabol (Yamuna Nagar) at Police Station City Rajpura. These persons obtained 42 lakh rupees by pretending to send it to America, but later neither sent it abroad (USA) nor returned the amount. The second case of fraud has been registered by Onkar Singh, a resident of Khalsa Mohalla, in Kotwali Patiala. He has said in the complaint against Saurav Kumar of local Purana Lal Bagh that Saurav took 9 lakh 25 thousand rupees from Mudaila on the pretense of giving Canada work permit but he could not give the work permit. The police have registered cases under sections 406, 420 of the IPC and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professional Act in both the cases.
