Karnal, May 16: The City Police Station team of the Karnal District Police, led by Sub-Inspector Vijay Kumar, has successfully arrested two accused individuals involved in a house burglary. The arrested accused have been identified as Jatan, son of Bura (resident of RK Colony, Murthal, District Sonipat), and Karan, son of Ramen (resident of Chand Sarai Deha Basti, Karnal). A total of 2 kg 800 g of stolen copper wire was recovered from the possession of the accused.
Providing details regarding the matter, the Investigating Officer stated that the complainant had filed a report at the City Police Station, Karnal, stating that he owns a house located at Jundla Gate, Juriyan Kuan (near Sevak Sabha Hall), Karnal. On the night of May 3, 2026, two youths broke into his house and stole various items, including old electrical wiring.
Based on this complaint, Case FIR No. 280, dated May 3, 2026, was registered at the City Police Station, Karnal, under the relevant sections of the law. During the course of the investigation, the police team scrutinized footage from CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity of the crime scene; this footage aided in identifying the two accused, leading to their subsequent arrest.
During police interrogation, the stolen 2 kg 800 g of copper wire was recovered from the accused.
The arrested individuals were produced before the Honorable Court today, from where they have been remanded to judicial custody.
