Patiala:- The twenty-day Theatre Training Summer Camp (June 1–20), organized by the North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, for both students and non-students during the summer vacation, concluded at Paragon Senior Secondary School, Sector 69, Mohali. On the occasion of the camp’s closing ceremony, Colonel Inderpreet Singh Dhaliwal and Mr. M.B.S. Shergill, Director of Paragon School, attended as distinguished guests.
During the camp, nearly eighteen participants were trained in selected scenes and choreography from the full-length play “Sardar,” written by Sanjeevan Singh, which portrays lesser-known moments from the life of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and highlights the sacrifices he made for India’s freedom.
These presentations will be staged before students and parents after the reopening of the school. In addition, performances of the play will be organized in various markets of Mohali up to Independence Day (August 15) to familiarize local residents with the sacrifices made by the nation’s freedom fighters.
Providing this information, the school’s coordinator Deepinder Kaur Shergill said that theatre and film actors Kuku Diwan and Ranjeevan Singh were also invited to interact with the participants. They shared valuable insights into the finer aspects of acting and dialogue delivery.
On the concluding day of the camp, Sanjeevan Singh, the Camp Director, arranged lunch for all participants, the school principal, officials, teachers, and support staff. Principal Amarjit Kaur and Punjabi teacher Sandeep Kaur Kang also extended active support in the successful organization of the camp.
