Patiala 18th May:- Regarding the serious problems of the daily wage laborers working continuously in the Punjab Forest and Wildlife Protection Department, the state general secretary of the state Forest Department Workers Union Reg, Mr. Virpal Singh Bahmanna and Balvir Singh Mandauli said that the sub-committee formed by the Punjab government is going to meet with the Honorable Finance and Planning Minister, Punjab Government, Mr. Harpal Singh Cheema, Industries and Industrial Minister, AAP President Aman Arora, Social Security and Women and Child Development, Social Welfare Minister, Baljit Kaur, at Civil Secretariat 1, Chandigarh.
Lumba, while commenting on the Punjab government, mentioned that when the meetings being held are held many times, they are put on hold. Then the organization announces to hold protests and rallies. But the government gives time for the meeting and calls the union. But the sub-committee has also asked which meetings have been held earlier by taking up valuable time. They have found no fruit.
The organization had demanded that the government should prepare its policy for the daily wage workers of the forest department and give permanent employment to the workers who have worked for three years. Those workers were continuously serving the department for 20-20 years and decades without interruption. But the forest department has illegally provided the benefits of the Punjab government's policy to very ineligible workers. It has discriminated against the eligible workers. As many workers as have been registered on the Punjab government's e-portal. All the benefits should be ensured.
If the government does not provide any pension scheme to the workers, then as long as the worker is able to work, then why not give continuous work up to that age of 70. The seniority list of daily wage workers has been prepared by the Circumcision Review Committee of the Punjab Government of Forest Department.
Dated 31/3/2023. According to that, ensure that all hardworking and qualified registered workers are given work in the department. And the contract system should be completely banned. The mistreatment of workers in the Forest Department during the previous governments has been a constant.
The Aam Aadmi Party government has failed to fulfill the expectations of the working class or understand the pain of the victim families of this Forest Department. If the working class still does not get justice, then these common people will come to the Punjab government and vent their anger on time. They have earned hatred by cheating the workers.
