Chandigarh:- The three-year election of the Central Punjabi Writers’ Association (Regd.) will be held on October 25, 2026, at Desh Bhagat Hall in Jalandhar. Prior to this, the three-year session of the association will be held at the same venue on September 13, during which reports on the organizational and literary activities of the association over the past three years, along with the financial report, will be presented. At the session, Prof. Jaipal will address the gathering as the keynote speaker on the role of writers and thinkers in the contemporary era.
Issuing this information from here, General Secretary of the association Sushil Dusanjh and Office Secretary Deep Devinder Singh said that Lakhwinder Singh Johal has been appointed Chief Election Officer, while Satnam Singh Manak and Tejinder Virli have been appointed Assistant Election Officers to conduct the election in an orderly, impartial and democratic manner. They said that all these decisions were taken unanimously at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Central Punjabi Writers’ Association (Regd.). The meeting was chaired by association President Darshan Buttar and Senior Vice President Makhan Singh Kuhar.
They said that at the three-year session to be held on September 13, a detailed account of the organizational and literary activities carried out by the association during the past three years will be presented before the members. Along with this, details of the association’s financial position and income and expenditure during this period will also be presented. The General Secretary will present the report on the activities of the association.
They said that the central theme of the session would not only be an assessment of the association’s previous performance, but there would also be a discussion on the role of writers and thinkers in the prevailing social, political and cultural circumstances. In this context, Prof. Jaipal will present his views as the keynote speaker on the topic ‘The Responsibility of Writers and Thinkers in Contemporary Times’.
The association leaders said that the October 25 election would be an important stage in the organizational process of the Central Punjabi Writers’ Association. Related literary associations from within the country and abroad, along with their representatives, will participate in the election process.
While appointing the election officers, the Executive Committee of the association entrusted them with the responsibility of conducting the election process in a transparent, impartial and democratic manner.
