Chandigarh, October 27 - Giving clear instructions to make the campaign being run against drugs more effective, Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that in the police station areas where commendable work is being done by police officers/employees against drugs, they will be honored. The Chief Minister also made it clear that where negligence or laxity is being shown, strict action will be taken. He said that the effect of the action taken against negligent officers and employees should be clearly visible so that the message goes to other employees that those who do good work against drugs will get respect and strict steps will be taken where drugs are spreading.
Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini was presiding over a review meeting organized here today regarding the Drug-Free India Campaign Scheme.
Mr. Naib Singh Saini directed that regular re-evaluation of villages declared drug-free should be done and the strength of Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau should be increased in the border areas of the state adjoining other states. Along with this, effective control over the supply of drugs will be ensured by including experts in the team. He directed all the concerned departments to intensify the joint campaign against drugs, work with respect on the three aspects of enforcement, de-addiction and awareness and make the Panchayats active participants. Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau should conduct a comprehensive campaign along with other concerned departments and ensure serious screening of the youth caught in the grip of drugs. A thorough investigation should be done in this regard. It should be found out from where and from what sources the drugs are being brought. In this way, effective control can be established by catching the entire supply chain of drugs. Our aim is not only to stop drugs, but also to reintegrate the youth who have fallen prey to drugs into the mainstream of society.
He said that the Narcotics Control Bureau, Services Department and Health Department should together intensify the joint campaign against drugs so that this evil can be eradicated from the root. Also, all the concerned departments should ensure the active participation of Panchayats in the strong campaign against drugs. Panchayats and Sarpanches who do good work should be honored. All the departments should work in coordination with each other and take concrete steps to make the state drug free.
While reviewing projects worth more than 75 crores on the State Pragati Portal, instructions were given to complete them on time
After this, Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini reviewed the implementation of 7 different projects worth more than Rs. 75 crores on the State Pragati Portal. He directed the officials to invite representatives of departments whose projects are not being completed on time due to inter-departmental issues in the upcoming meeting. The Chief Minister said that the presence of the concerned departments in such meetings would help in resolving these issues immediately, so that the projects are completed on time and the citizens get their benefits soon.
The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the four-lane road connecting National Highway-9 from Mirzapur Road to National Highway-52 in Hisar district, construction of Budlada-Ratia-Fatehabad-Bhattu-Bhawra road, construction of two-lane relief road from Ghogharipur to Haryana-Delhi border, construction of master road from Noida to Faridabad to Gurugram, construction of two link roads providing uninterrupted connectivity from West Faridabad to East Faridabad, construction of new judicial complex (Tower of Justice) in Gurugram and construction of 200-bed hospital in Fatehabad Sector-9 and directed that all these important projects be completed within the stipulated time so that the pace of development works of the state can be further accelerated. Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Arun Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary Home Department Dr. Sumita Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary Environment Department Vineet Garg, Additional Chief Secretary Services Department G Anupama, Additional Chief Secretary Power Department Apurv Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Public Works Department Anurag Agarwal, Additional Director General of Police Sanjay Kumar and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
