Chandigarh, September 10:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that although the Congress leaders who come to the sacred House of the Legislative Assembly wearing black clothes may have forgotten the black deeds committed during their tenure, the public has not forgotten their announcements and atrocities. People still remember that the policies of the Congress were aimed at harassing people rather than serving the public interest. The poor had to make rounds of offices to avail themselves of schemes, the elderly had to struggle for pensions, people had to stand in queues for four days at a time to get gas cylinders, and the youth had to struggle with a corrupt system for jobs. But over the past 12 years, the double-engine governments at the Centre and in the state, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, have changed that system and worked to ensure that schemes and services reach eligible persons directly.
Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini made these remarks on Thursday while answering a question from journalists during a press conference held at Haryana Niwas. Targeting the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party in Haryana and Punjab, he advised them to look within themselves before raising questions about the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that if the Congress in Haryana has worn black clothes at the behest of Rahul Gandhi, then Rahul Gandhi should also wear black clothes. Congress leaders, especially Bhupender Singh Hooda, should tell the public what arrangements existed for the poor, youth, women, elderly and common people of the state during their tenure. Today, in the states where the BJP is in power, the double-engine governments are fulfilling all of Modi Ji’s resolutions and promises made to the public ahead of schedule.

Congress distributed the toffees of announcements, we changed the system and delivered benefits directly into bank accounts:
The Chief Minister said that in the governments of the Congress and opposition parties, announcements are made to secure votes; for them, politics is like running a shop—distribute the toffees of announcements to the people and capture power. But when these parties come to power, they forget the announcements for five years. Then, at election time, they start making new announcements to mislead the people.
But under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, efforts have been made to change this system. Today, the government is directly transferring funds under various public welfare schemes into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries. Wherever there is a double-engine government under the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi, the poor are being empowered, women are being strengthened, the elderly are being enabled to live with dignity, and opportunities are being provided for the youth to move forward.

Lado Lakshmi Scheme is providing financial support to sisters
The Chief Minister said that in Haryana, as per the promise made to mothers and sisters before the elections, financial assistance of Rs 2,100 per month is being sent directly to their bank accounts through the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Scheme. So far, mothers and sisters from families with an annual income of Rs 1 lakh have been receiving the benefit of this scheme, while in future its scope will be expanded to include mothers and sisters from families with an annual income of Rs 1.80 lakh. For this, registration of women will begin on September 17 as part of ‘Seva Diwas’. Similarly, our government has adopted a proactive model under which eligible elderly persons are receiving pensions directly into their accounts while sitting at home. If we recall the old days, during the Congress rule, elderly persons not only had to make rounds of government offices for years to get pensions sanctioned, but also had to give two months’ pension each to officials and leaders in the form of bribes.

During Congress rule, people had to wait for several days for gas cylinders:
The Chief Minister said that during the Congress rule, ordinary people had to stand in queues for four days at a time to get gas cylinders and wait for their turn. For poor families, obtaining a gas cylinder was even more difficult. Congress may have forgotten those days, but the public has not. Thanking Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, he said that through the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, poor mothers and sisters have been provided gas cylinders at Rs 500, making their lives easier.
In response to a question about the campaign being run by the Punjab Chief Minister against drugs, the Chief Minister said that the Punjab government has proved to be a complete failure in preventing drug abuse. In contrast, the Haryana government is keeping young people away from drugs by connecting them with sports and education and is moving forward with the resolve of a drug-free Haryana, in which lakhs of young people participate every month. Sports facilities are being strengthened at the grassroots level so that young people get better opportunities to hone their talent and move forward.

Opposition has no issues, doing politics by getting photographs clicked:
The Chief Minister said that the opposition today has no issue left against the government. At places where the government has already issued tenders for development works, opposition leaders go there, get photographs clicked and then make statements on social media. Haryana’s double-engine BJP government is working at the grassroots level.
The Chief Minister said that there was no public grievance redressal during the Congress rule, and the same situation is visible in Punjab today. In contrast, the Haryana government has changed the system and made governance and government services accessible to the common citizen.
In response to a question about the sanitation workers’ strike in Haryana, the Chief Minister said that every person from the Valmiki community is a member of our family and their problems and demands are considered on a priority basis by the government. Some people and opposition leaders in the state are trying to mislead and provoke the employees, but the employees should understand their intentions and cooperate with the government.

BJP family is growing in Punjab:
Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that people in Punjab are joining the BJP in large numbers after leaving the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress. Recently, more than 1,000 intellectuals from various communities of Punjab joined the BJP. All of them say that they want to make Punjab stronger and know that this will be possible only when a BJP government led by Narendra Modi is formed in Punjab. After a BJP government is formed in Punjab, public welfare schemes will also be implemented there in the same manner as in Haryana, and Punjab will also be taken forward on the path of progress through the teachings of the Gurus.
On this occasion, Minister of State for Services Shri Krishan Kumar Bedi, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Arun Kumar Gupta, Commissioner and Secretary of the Information, Public Relations and Language Department Shri K.M. Pandurang, Director Dr. Aditya Dahiya, along with other officials, were also present.
