New Delhi: Five years after the Galwan clash between Indian and Chinese troops in May 2020, the government has claimed that there has been no infiltration incident on the border between the two countries between 2014 and 2025.
According to the Home Ministry, there was no infiltration report on the India-China border between 2014 and 2024. However, 425 such cases were reported on the India-Pakistan border. According to official data, the number of infiltration incidents on the India-Bangladesh border between 2014 and 2024 was 7,528.
Home Ministry sources said that no such incident took place on the India-China border between 2014 and 2024. There was no infiltration incident till November last year in 2025 either. In contrast, there were 425 incidents of infiltration along the India-Pakistan border between 2014 and 2024. There were 32 such incidents on the western border till November 2025.
Talking about the India-Bangladesh border, there were 7,528 incidents of infiltration between 2014 and 2024, while 1,082 such cases were reported between January and November 2025. The Ministry of Home Affairs informed Parliament on September 16, 2020 that there had been no Chinese infiltration in the last six months. This response came at a time when both India and China were trying to resolve the border standoff along the Line of Actual Control, which began in May 2020.
Tensions between India and China had escalated after the clash between the armies of the two countries in Ladakh on June 15, 2020, following the confrontation that began in May that year. During this clash, 20 Indian soldiers and an unidentified Chinese soldier were killed. Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, in response to a question raised by BJP Rajya Sabha member Anil Agarwal on September 16, 2020, had said that ‘no infiltration has been reported on the India-China border during the last six months.’ Rai had said this in a written reply.
