Haroli/Una, June 21 (Rajveer Chopra): The *Jyoti-Jot Diwas* of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji and the martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Maharaj Ji were celebrated with devotion and faith at the historic shrine of Sri Khuralgarh Sahib. On this occasion, following the recitation of the holy *Sukhmani Sahib*, the *Jatha* (group) of Baba Keval Singh Ji uplifted the spirits of the congregation through *Gurbani Kirtan*.
Baba Keval Singh Ji mentioned that Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji merged with the Divine on the 1st of *Haar*, 1528 AD. He stated that Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji gave us the message of humanity and inspired us to lead a life filled with human values. It is through the grace of Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji that we today enjoy the fruits of religious, political, and social freedom.
He explained that a major reason for the martyrdom of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Maharaj Ji was his commitment to uniting society, eradicating the caste system, and including the hymns of saints and great figures from so-called lower castes in the *Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji*.
Sri Guru Arjan Dev Maharaj Ji embraced martyrdom for the sake of protecting society and humanity. We offer our deepest salutations to his great martyrdom. On this occasion, Baba Sukhdev Singh Ji appealed to the congregation to actively contribute to the *Kar Seva* (voluntary service) currently underway at the shrine.
