Chandigarh - Haryana ADGP Y. Puran Kumar recently committed suicide with his licensed revolver. An eight-page suicide note was found near him, naming several IAS and IPS officers. The IPS officer's wife, Amneet Kumar, filed a complaint at the Sector 11 police station, requesting an FIR against the IAS and IPS officers mentioned in the suicide note.
Amneet Kumar had called a press conference today at his official residence, No. 132, Sector 24, Chandigarh, but the press conference could not take place due to some reason. Our bureau chief, citing sources, reported that Haryana DGP Shatrughan Kapoor has gone on extended leave. OP Singh has been appointed as the new DGP, but the Haryana government has not yet issued any orders.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, along with Haryana's Chief Principal Secretary Rajesh Khullar, went to meet Amanit Kumar at his residence today. They talked to Amanit Kumar for an hour. Amanit Kumar told the Chief Minister the names of all those officers and demanded that action be taken against them. All the officers want to trap me; they should be given lifelong security.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini assured Amanit Kumar. SC Commission Chairman Kishore Marwana had come to Amanit Kumar's residence. He told the journalists that we have formed a committee of 31 members, which will meet the Haryana government tomorrow. Otherwise, a protest will be held, for which the government will be responsible.
