Hoshiarpur: For quite some time, traffic jams have been a frequent occurrence in Kot Fatuhi town of Hoshiarpur district. Whether it's the road from Kot Fatuhi to Mananhana, Adampur Road, Garhshankar Road, or Bahiram Road, traffic jams occur every 15 minutes. Several complaints were filed by prominent citizens of the area with various concerned officials, but no solution was found.
Today, Mahilpur police station in-charge Madan Singh, along with his police team and Kot Fatuhi police post in-charge Sukhwinder Singh, removed the illegal encroachments made by shopkeepers in the market and also issued challans for wrongly parked vehicles.
The shopkeepers were warned that strict action would be taken against any shopkeeper who extends their shop's merchandise onto the road in the future. The police station in-charge also stated that this action would be followed up periodically in the future.
If any shopkeeper or street vendor is found to have made illegal encroachments during these follow-up checks, strict legal action will be taken against them.
