Chandigarh , February 8 - Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country is moving forward at a fast pace with the concept of Atmanirbhar Bharat. At such a time, the role of animal husbandry sector becomes even more important. There are immense opportunities in milk production, value addition, export potential and start-up culture. The state government's goal is to make animal husbandry modern, profitable and sustainable.
In this regard, animal health services are being taken to every village, promotion of improved breed is being given. Strong arrangements for milk collection and marketing are being made. Along with this, training and loan facilities are also being expanded. The government's priority is to increase the income of animal husbandry, reduce marginal losses and provide direct access to the market.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini was addressing as the chief guest on the third day of the 41st State Level Livestock Exhibition held in Kurukshetra today.
During this time, Cabinet Minister Shyam Singh Rana , MP Mr. Naveen Jindal, former Minister Mr. Subhash Sudha, Chairman Mr. Dharambir Mirzapur were also present.
The Chief Minister also offered prayers to the indigenous cow by feeding it jaggery.
During this, the Chief Minister inspected the exhibition, saw different breeds of animals and interacted with the animal husbandry. He saw the display of good breed animals on the catwalk made in the fair. During this, the camel welcomed the Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini by garlanding him. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini honored the animal husbandry farmers who came first in various categories by giving awards.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that this three-day livestock exhibition is a living symbol of our rural culture, livestock tradition and our growing resolve towards a self-reliant India. This holy land of Dharam Kshetra-Kurukshetra, which gives the message of Karma, Responsibility and Balance, has today become a witness to the resolve of animal husbandry and rural prosperity.
He said that in the last three days, this exhibition provided a common platform to animal husbandry, farmers, youth, scientists and entrepreneurs. Exhibition of high quality animals, cattle show, glimpse of modern technologies, animal health camps, training sessions and innovation based programs were organized here. All these proved that the animal husbandry sector of Haryana is a beautiful confluence of tradition and progress. The daily per capita milk availability of the state is 1 thousand 128 grams. The credit for this goes to the animal husbandry brothers and sisters.
The Chief Minister said that animal husbandry is not just a source of income, but is the backbone of our rural economy. Haryana's identity is made up of its dedicated animal husbandry, advanced breeds and scientific thinking. Animal husbandry is the basis of milk and milk products, bio-energy, organic fertilizers and rural employment. Healthy animals, prosperous farmers and strong villages, this is the path to a developed India-developed Haryana.
He said that the main objective of this event is to provide the latest information related to livestock to the livestock farmers, to respect quality and to encourage innovation. Through this cattle show, the best breeds got recognition, the morale of the livestock farmers increased and the new generation got new inspiration to see animal husbandry as a respectable and profitable business. With the knowledge of modern animal feed, vaccination, disease control, breeding technology and digital services, you livestock farmers will become more economically strong.
The Agriculture Department is doing natural farming on 53 acres of land in Antehari village.
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that the solution to all the problems of land, water and air pollution is natural farming. In this, most of the work is done by nature itself. The government had launched the Natural Farming Scheme in the year 2022 to promote natural farming. Farmers can get themselves registered on the portal launched for natural farming.
He said that the target of doing natural farming in 1 lakh acres of area has been set during the year 2025-26. It has been decided to do natural farming on 53 acres 4 kanal land of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department. This land is in Antehri village of Kaithal district. It will be implemented as a pilot project . After its success, it will be gradually expanded and implemented in the entire state.
Farmers are being trained to make Jivamrta, Ghanamrta, Bijamrta, Neemamrta, Agnistra, and Brahmastra.
The Chief Minister said that training centers have been set up in Gurukul in Kurukshetra itself , Hameti in Jind, Mangiana in Sirsa and Gharonda in Karnal to provide training to progressive farmers in the training center of Gurukul , Kurukshetra. He said that the natural farming farm spread over 180 acres of land in Gurukul Kurukshetra is a unique example of reviving natural farming in Haryana. No pesticides or chemical fertilizers are used in this farm. Only Chivamrut, Ghanamrut and Bijamrut prepared from cow dung and cow urine are used.
This method of farming is based on a small budget. Natural farming can be done in 30 acres with one indigenous cow. In this center, all kinds of training is being provided to farmers about natural farming. They are providing information about making Jivamrut, Ghanamrut , Bijamrut , Neemamrut, Agnistra , Brahmastra etc. in this center. These natural fertilizers and pesticides are the main pillars of natural farming.
2.30 lakh livestock farmers credit cards approved by banks??
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that Haryana is famous for its Murrah buffaloes. In the direction of its conservation and development, cash incentives of up to Rs 40 thousand are given to the owners of this high quality and high milk yielding Murrah buffaloes. He said that livestock farmer credit cards are being provided for purchasing animals and for their rearing. So far, 2.20 lakh livestock farmer credit cards have been approved by the banks. An amount of Rs 3 thousand 449 crore has been given by the banks to the cattle farmers of the state.
Cost of cattle to open a mini dairy with up to 10 dairy cattle 25 percent subsidy
The Chief Minister said that more than 35 thousand livestock units have been established under the Mukhyamantri Anthondeya Parivar Uthan Yojana. Under the Mukhyamantri Dudh Produktak Protsahan Yojana, an incentive amount of Rs. 70 crore was given to cooperative milk producers. Similarly, a high-tech and mini dairy scheme is being run for small farmers and youth of rural areas. 14,168 dairies have been established under this scheme.
He said that under this scheme, a subsidy of 25 percent is given on the cost of the animal for opening a mini dairy of up to 10 milch animals. Under the scheme to provide employment to the people of the Scheduled Castes, a subsidy of 50 percent is given on opening a dairy of two or three animals . Apart from this, a loan is given for setting up a high-tech dairy of 20 or more milch animals.
28 thousand cattle farmers were given insurance claims worth Rs . 106 crore.
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that considering the risks in animal husbandry, the government has insured 15.33 lakh animals under the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Collective Livestock Insurance Scheme. Under this scheme, any animal husbandry farmer can get insurance for big animals for just Rs 100 to 300 and small animals for Rs 25.
Under this scheme, the animals of Scheduled Caste animal husbandry farmers are insured free of cost. Under this scheme, so far, about 26 thousand livestock farmers have been given Rs 106 crore as claims. The Chief Minister appealed to all livestock farmers to get their livestock insured.
Special campaign launched for complete eradication of Brucella disease from cows and buffaloes ?
The Chief Minister said that the government has set up 70 mobile veterinary units to provide veterinary services at homes for the health of animals. Veterinary services are being provided to 71.26 lakh animals through 2966 veterinary institutions in the state. A toll-free number 1962 call center for animal husbandry has been opened in Hisar.
He said that Haryana is the first state in the country to use combined vaccines to make cows and buffaloes free from foot-and-mouth disease. We have started a special campaign to completely eradicate Brucellosis from cows and buffaloes in the state by the year 2030.
So far , 287 women farmer dairies have been opened in the state.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that the government has taken effective steps in the field of cow protection and cow promotion in the state. For this purpose, a Cow Service Commission has been formed in the state. Under the Haryana Cow Breed Protection and Cow Promotion Act-2015, a person who kills a cow has been provided with a jail term of up to 10 years and a fine of up to Rs. 1 lakh.
He said that for the improvement of the breed of indigenous cows, Haryana Animal Science Centers have been established in Uchani and Mahendragarh in Karnal. A similar center is being established in Kudak of Kaithal district . For women empowerment, interest-free loans of up to Rs. 1 lakh are being provided to women under the Mahila Kisan Dairy Scheme . So far, 287 Mahila Kisan Dairies have been opened under this scheme.

Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana said that Kurukshetra has a very big name in the world . He said that the government is working in four ways to increase the income of farmers . Along with agriculture, many new schemes have been made in the animal husbandry department, horticulture department and fisheries sector.
He said that the government has implemented the Bhavantar Bharpay Yojana for farmers , Meri Fasal Meri Beura , direct payment is being made to the farmers' accounts within 48 hours of the sale of the crop . To fulfill the goal of making India developed by the year 2047, new schemes have been implemented for farmers and animal husbandry.

MP Naveen Jindal said that an animal health camp will soon be organized for farmers and animal husbandry in collaboration with a company. In this camp, animal diseases will be tested through kits. He said that animal husbandry is the pillar of the agricultural economy. Our rural people are dependent on animal husbandry, due to which our village is developing.
Our state is establishing new milestones of progress . It is touching new milestones in the dairy sector. The livestock fair is showing a new picture of India. He said that work will have to be done on new breeds of animals in the country. There is a need to convert our Ghir breed cow to Grillando breed and bring 40 to 50 kg of milk.
