Ambala:- Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said on the occasion of the inauguration of the statue of India's spiritual figure Swami Vivekananda in village Kadasan that Swami Vivekananda was not just a saint, but a man of that era who awakened the sleeping national consciousness of India. His statue is not just a stone statue, but a living symbol of inspiration, self-confidence and patriotism for the coming generations.
The Chief Minister said that whenever a youth sees this statue, he will remember that the purpose of life is not only personal success, but also service to society and the nation. When any child comes here, he will definitely be curious about who Swami Vivekananda was and this curiosity will make him aware of Swami ji's great life and thoughts.
The Chief Minister congratulated the Swami Vivekananda Uthan Samiti for this noble work and said that such efforts spread positive consciousness in the society. On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs. 21 lakh for development works in village Kadasan and another Rs. 21 lakh to the Swami Vivekananda Uthan Samiti.
Jasvir Singh, President of the Vivekananda Uthan Samiti and Additional Advocate General of Haryana, along with the committee officials and villagers, presented the chief guest with a turban, a memento with the religious scriptures Shrimad Bhagavad Gita and Valmiki Ramayana, a picture of Swami Vivekananda and a shawl.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Swami Vivekananda's speech at the World Parliament of Religions held in Chicago, USA in 1893, which began with "Brothers and Sisters of America", was a glorious moment in Indian history. That speech declared India's spiritual and cultural power on the global stage. He said that just as Swami Vivekananda had raised the flag of Indian culture across the world in the 19th century, today under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India's pride is reaching new heights on the global stage.
Referring to the youth, the Chief Minister said that Swami Vivekananda considered the youth as the biggest strength of the country. He believed that if he could find 100 energetic and virtuous youth, they could change the country. Today, the Haryana Government is working tirelessly in the fields of education, sports, skill development and employment to empower the youth. Employment opportunities are being provided to the youth in India and abroad through legal means through the Haryana Skill Employment Corporation. Strict laws have been made to stop illegal "donkey routes".
Recently, a demand for 10,000 posts was received abroad and the process of selecting eligible youth is underway. Under the "Future Ready Skills" programme, 75 hours of specialized training and knowledge of AI are being provided to youth aspiring to go abroad.
Speaking on women empowerment, the Chief Minister said that Swami Vivekananda was a firm supporter of women power. Our government is also committed to making mothers and sisters self-reliant. He said that the government's efforts are successful only when there is social participation. The Chief Minister also said that Haryana is the first state in the country where all crops are being purchased at minimum support price. He also said that the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, today launched the HPV vaccine from Ajmer and he also got the opportunity to participate virtually in Ladwa. Work on this will be intensified in Haryana too and teenage girls above the age of 14 years will get this vaccine free of cost.
At the event, sewing machines were distributed to 25 women which were provided by the committee.
