Chandigarh, November 11 - Haryana Education Minister Mr. Mahipal Dhanda said that various points were discussed in detail to make the education system of government schools in the state stronger and of high quality.
The Minister was presiding over an important meeting with the Haryana School Teachers Association and the top officials of the Education Department at the Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh today. During this, the Education Minister said that the goal of the state government is that the level of education in every government school should be at par with or better than that of private schools.
He said that the government is continuously taking concrete steps in this direction. The repair and maintenance work of government school buildings is being done at a fast pace so that the students do not face any inconvenience during their studies.
The Minister said that teachers should also ensure that maximum number of children are enrolled in government schools. He said that the teachers of those schools whose examination results are good will be honored and encouraged by the government. He directed the officials to pay special attention to the cleanliness system in all schools, so that the students can get a clean and positive educational environment.
The Education Minister said that the teachers and the government will together make the education system of Haryana an ideal example in the country.
During the meeting, the officials of the Haryana School Teachers Association demanded that the training of teachers be conducted during the school holidays and in return, the teachers should be provided with compensatory holidays. On this, the Education Minister, adopting a positive attitude, said that this proposal will be discussed in detail with the officials of the department.
Additional Chief Secretary of Haryana Higher Education Department Mr. Vineet Garg, Director of Elementary Education Mr. Vivek Agarwal and senior officials of Haryana School Teachers Association were present in the meeting.
