Hoshiarpur:- Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain today inaugurated the renovated gym at the Services Club, Hoshiarpur at a cost of about Rs 30 lakh, run by the District Olympic Association. On this occasion, she said that this initiative will play an important role in motivating the youth of the district towards fitness and sports activities. The Deputy Commissioner said that Century Plywood has provided special support in the renovation work of this gym.
She thanked the chairman of the company, Padma Shri Sajjan Bhajanka, and said that such projects with the support of the private sector help in bringing positive changes in the society. She said that today this gym has been started in a new way, in which modern machines and world-class facilities have been included.
He appealed to the residents of Hoshiarpur, especially the youth, to take maximum advantage of the services of this gym and adopt a healthy lifestyle. He said that high-level fitness facilities are being made available here at a very reasonable fee. The Deputy Commissioner also informed that free fitness sessions are being started especially for women, so that more and more women can join fitness activities.
He said that this step will prove to be a significant contribution towards the health and empowerment of women. Referring to the ‘War Against Drugs’ campaign being run by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, he said that through this initiative, the youth are being motivated towards sports and fitness by staying away from drugs. He said that such gym centers are helpful in strengthening this campaign.
The Deputy Commissioner further informed that from April 1, the swimming pool located in the Services Club will also be started, in which modern facilities have also been provided, so that people can take advantage of better sports and fitness facilities.
