Dhuri, January 12:- Chairman of Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation Dalvir Singh Dhillon and Chairman of Market Committee Dhuri Rajwant Singh Ghulli said that the bridge of Dhuri city is to be built by the Punjab government and all administrative, technical and financial preparations in this regard have been completed. They clearly said that now only the NOC is to be issued by the central government and the day this approval is received, the tender will be issued by the Punjab government on the same day. They expressed this during a press conference held today to clarify the wrong facts given by former MLA Dhuri Dalbir Singh Goldy in a press conference regarding the Dhuri bridge.
Dalvir Singh Dhillon said that the Punjab Infrastructure Development Board (PIDB) has already reserved an amount of Rs 54.76 crore for the construction of Dhuri Bridge, which is a clear proof that the Punjab government is completely serious and committed to this project. He said that there is no shortage of any kind in terms of finances.
He said that the approvals of other departments of the Punjab government have also been obtained, including the approvals of the Forest, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited, Water Resources Department and the amount to be deposited in various departments and the transfer of land has also been done.
The Chairman said that all the work regarding the site map of the bridge has been completed and now only the signature of the Chief Engineer (Bridge) of the Railways is left. After this, there will be no technical or administrative hurdle in implementing the project.
Dalvir Singh Dhillon alleged that the central government is deliberately trying to stop development works in Punjab and important projects like Dhuri Bridge are being delayed without any reason. He said that Mr. Ravneet Singh Bittu is obstructing the construction of the bridge and is trying to take revenge on the Punjabis for his defeat.
He said that whatever facts have been put before the people by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann regarding Dhuri Bridge are completely correct and the Punjab government has completed all its work on time.
The Chairman said that former MLA Dalbir Singh Goldy is trying to mislead the people of Dhuri by giving wrong information, which is unacceptable. He appealed to the people to understand the truth by avoiding false statements.
Dalvir Singh Dhillon and Rajwant Singh Ghulli said that the fate of the city will change with the completion of the construction of Dhuri Bridge. There will be relief from the congestion at the railway crossings and commercial, industrial and social development will get a new boost. He said that the Punjab government is fully committed to the development of Dhuri and the interests of the people will not be compromised at any cost. Anil Mittal, Sham Singla, Harjinder Singh Kanjhla, Naresh Singla were also present on this occasion.
