Chandigarh:- Today at Government Model Middle School Sector-23 Chandigarh, a function was organized by Vishva Punjabi Prachar Sabha Chandigarh for teacher felicitation and distribution of stationery/books to children. In this function, renowned litterateur and journalist Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma participated as Chief Guest, while Raj Kumar Sahowalia, former Deputy Secretary Punjab Government and renowned litterateur Shri Prem Vij were Special Guests. The function was presided over by President of the organization Prin. Bahadur Singh Gosal. In the presidium were Dr. Panna Lal Mustafabadi, Madam Baljinder Kaur Shergill and School Headmaster S. Harjit Singh.
Headmaster Harjit Singh introduced and welcomed the guests. The function started with Jagtar Singh Jog singing the song written by Prin. Gosal "Aao Satikar Gurmukhi Kariye, Bani Guran Di Har Roz Padhiye". Prin. Bahadur Singh Gosal shared his views on the importance of education, environment and inspiring children. Madam Baljinder Shergill sang a poem along with the children.
On this occasion, the presidium honoured the school's Headmaster Harjit Singh and Maths teacher Satinder Singh by giving shawl, memento, gold medal, set of books and bouquet of flowers. This honour was given for winning Best Eco Award by the school and being environment lovers. The school's hardworking gardener Shiv Ram was also honoured by giving shawl, memento and gold medal.
After this, stationery and books written by Prin. Gosal were distributed to 30 children of the school. Chief Guest Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma inspired the children to work hard and achieve high goals in life. Prem Vij encouraged for studies, while Madam Baljinder Shergill inspired the children to write small poems and stories. Satinder Singh thanked for the honour.
A large number of children and teachers of the school participated in the function. In the end, Headmaster Harjit Singh thanked the organization for the efforts made for the welfare of poor children. The service of stage secretary was performed very well by General Secretary of the organization Avtar Singh Mehtapuri.
