Garhshankar, September 30:- A seven-day employability and skill training programme was inaugurated at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar, being run under the management of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, by the college’s Career Guidance and Placement Cell in collaboration with the IQAC Cell, under the directions of the Directorate of Education. The programme was organised under the leadership of College Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera, with the support of Mahindra & Mahindra Nandi Foundation, to encourage college students towards commercial and professional skill development. Madam Ritika from Mahindra & Mahindra Nandi Foundation participated as the keynote speaker.
Keynote speaker Madam Ritika guided the students on important aspects of career development and shared her views on communication skills, interview techniques, preparation of personal statements and workplace ethics.
Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera welcomed keynote speaker Madam Ritika and emphasised the institution’s commitment to providing career-oriented education. He appreciated the initiatives being undertaken by Engineer Sukhminder Singh, Secretary Education, and the Directorate of Education. He said that the programme would be highly beneficial for the growth of students’ careers.
He said that the college is making efforts to enhance the skills of students, prepare them for employment and enable them to keep pace with the times to succeed in their future careers.
Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Coordinator of the Career Guidance and Placement Cell, in his address highlighted the importance of skill-based education in today’s job market.

Dr. Kuldeep Kaur, Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Prof. Manbir Kumar, other staff members and students from various departments were present on the occasion.
