Garhshankar: The 'Kar Sewa' (voluntary service) for the Sri Anandpur Sahib road in Garhshankar, which has been ongoing for the last two and a half years under the able guidance of Sant Baba Satnam Singh, following the legacy of Sant Baba Sewa Singh, Sant Baba Bhag Singh, Sant Baba Labh Singh, and Sant Baba Sucha Singh, continues to gain momentum.
In continuation of the recent tree plantation drive, and inspired by media reports, the devotees of Sant Baba Hari Om (Dera Baba Mela Ram, Mahilpur) and the volunteers of Udasin Kutia, Dharampur, contributed various types of saplings to this road-side service. The plantation drive is being led and coordinated by retired Forest Range Officer Malkiat Singh, social worker Daljeet Singh Bains, retired Deputy Director Gurinder Pal Singh Kahlon, Harwinder Singh Banth, retired Chief Agriculture Officer, and contractor Manjinder Singh Atwal.

Volunteers can plant saplings with their own hands, and the responsibility for the maintenance and care of these trees rests with the 'Kar Sewa' team. 'Guru Ka Langar' (community kitchen) continues uninterrupted for all.
