Patiala, August 27:- On the call of the Punjab Employees and Pensioners Joint Front and the Coordination Committee of Punjab Employees Forum, Punjab, today, all the permanent and casual employees of government, semi-government offices, schools, hospitals, boards, honorarium workers and field employees of Patiala gathered in front of their respective offices after taking collective leave and then joined the joint rally in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office by holding a protest march.
Similarly, pensioners also reached the joint rally in large numbers carrying flags and banners in the form of convoys, demonstrating strongly and demonstrating vigorously. Punjab Subordinate Services Federation, State Employees' Dal, Ministerial Union, Pensioners' Association Punjab, Electricity Board, Jail Department, Punjab Police, Doctors Association, Nursing Staff, Mid-Day Meal, Anganwadi, Class Four Union, Diploma Engineers Association, Joint Action Committee Rajindra Hospital and fraternal organizations Jamhuri Kisan Sabha, Freedom Fighter 196 etc. besides many other organizations participated in this rally.
The protest rally held today was attended by Shri Hari Singh Tohra, Darshan Belumajra, Bachittar Singh, Bhinder Singh Chahal, Darshan Singh Lubana, Gurmail Singh Virk, Sant Singh Cheema, Gurdeep Singh Walia, Raj Kaur, Sukhwinder Singh Saini, Dr. Harish Malhotra, Karamjit Singh Bhagrana, Swaran Singh Banga, Jagmel Singh and Khushminder Kapla etc. while addressing thanked all the employees and pensioners for today's successful strike and warned the Punjab government to read the writing on the wall, otherwise in 2027 people will show this government stars in the daylight.
All the speakers demanded that the Chief Minister should resolve the demands through talks instead of running away from meetings. After the protest rally, as per the drawn program, a protest march was taken out by all the employees, pensioners and honorarium workers with flags, banners and sky-shaking slogans.
The situation became tense when the police put up barricades to prevent them from going towards the house of Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh. Angered by this, the employees and pensioners pulled down the barricades and went in front of the minister's house and raised strong slogans and protested.
After that, the employees reached the house of MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli. MLA Kohli interacted with the protesters and assured them that he would try to get the demands of the employees and pensioners resolved from the Punjab government.
After this, the employees and pensioners reached the head office of the Electricity Board and held a protest rally. This rally was addressed by Jasvir Singh Khokhar, Amar Bahadur Singh Bath, Jaswinder Punjabi, Rajpal Singh, Sushil Kumar, Monica Masih, Manjit Singh Chahal, Jaswinder Sauja, Kamarjit Singh, Buta Ram, Kuljit Singh, Karamjit Kaur Olakh, Suman JE, Jagdeep, Dhanera etc. They warned the government that if the demands were not resolved, the struggle would be intensified.
