A very important meeting of the District Sub Committee of the Class Four Government Employees Union Punjab, Education Department, was held as per the directions of State President Darshan Singh Lubana Ji. In this meeting, it was stated that the condition of Mid Day Meal workers of all schools and sanitation workers working in 8200 schools of Punjab at a salary of 3000 rupees and watchmen working at 5000 rupees is a matter of great concern and a mockery.
In this meeting, a demand was made to the Punjab Government that the salaries of Mid Day Meal employees should be increased to 26000 rupees. Mid Day Meal employees should be provided uniforms, accidental insurance of 10 lakh rupees, and 15 leaves per year including special leaves, and their working hours should also be increased.
It was also demanded that the wages of sanitation workers and watchmen working in schools at 3000 rupees and 5000 rupees should be increased to at least 26000 rupees, and their duty hours should be properly regulated.
Other demands included clearing the pending 16 percent Dearness Allowance of employees, pending Pay Commission dues, implementation of equal pay for equal work, and enforcement of the honorable court decision dated 25-08-2025.
It was also demanded that the deduction of 200 rupees as Jajjia Tax should be stopped and the old pension scheme should be restored.
In this meeting, Ram Prasad Sahota, Balwinder Singh Patra, Dharminder Singh, Savitri Devi (Member Mid Day Meal Cook), Sandeep Kaur (Member Mid Day Meal), Saroj Rani (Mid Day Meal Cook Member), Nirmala Devi Patran, Saroj Rani, Charanjit Kaur Patran, Jaswinder Kaur, and others were present.
