Sunam, 26 August:- Punjab Cabinet Minister Shri Aman Arora inaugurated the new sports ground prepared at a cost of Rs 33.11 lakh at village Bigarwal in Sunam Assembly constituency and dedicated it to villagers and players. This sports ground is another important step by Punjab Government towards strengthening sports infrastructure at village level and connecting youth with sports.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Shri Aman Arora said that Punjab Government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is paying special attention to connecting youth with sports in the state and providing modern sports facilities in villages.
He said that aim of Government is not only to build sports grounds, but to develop them as centers for all-round development of youth, healthy lifestyle and nurturing sports talent.
Shri Aman Arora said that sports inculcate discipline, hard work, team spirit and self-confidence among youth. He said that along with promoting sports, Punjab Government is also making continuous efforts to keep youth away from drugs. With better sports facilities available in villages, youth will get more opportunities to channel their energy in constructive direction.
Cabinet Minister said that this sports ground prepared at village Bigarwal will prove to be an important facility for local youth to prepare for sports and participate in various sports competitions. He appealed to villagers and players to take maximum benefit of this sports ground and contribute to its maintenance.
He said that Punjab Government is continuously working to strengthen education, health, sanitation, drinking water, roads and other basic facilities along with sports for all-round development of villages. Effort of Government is to provide better facilities equal to cities to people of villages in their own villages.
Shri Aman Arora said that path of Punjab's progress is linked with development of its villages and Government is moving forward development of villages on priority basis. He assured that development works will be continued continuously as per needs of people in villages of Sunam Assembly constituency.
It is worth mentioning that Punjab Government is laying special emphasis on expansion of sports infrastructure at village level. In Sunam constituency also, continuous efforts are being made to connect youth with sports through construction of sports grounds and stadiums in various villages.
On this occasion, officers of various departments, dignitaries, various office bearers and large number of villagers and players were present.
